As the title really, has anyone modded the shark mesh to have a vostok clasp?

A real wrist shot would be nice.

I have not tried it even though I have one of those in the picture along with some horrid Vostok bracelets in a junk drawer somewhere. As long as the widths are the same I suppose it should work. I should warn you that type of shark mesh isn't easy to size. The first inclination is to use wire cutters which don't work well at all. I finally went to a Dremel and a cut-off wheel which worked OK, but still not easy.
The Vostok mesh bracelets from Meranom look better, are more comfortable, and are infinitely adjustable with no need for cutting.

I looked very closely at my Vostok branded mesh bracelet.
I don't think you can remove the clasp without damaging or bending the clasp parts.
They are pressed onto the bracelet with high force and you will have to pry the parts free with a chisel and a hammer.
Pressing them onto another bracelet may not create as strong a bond as the original.
Brazing them together may be the only way? But then the torch will discolour everything.

Hi Guys,

I'm thinking of simply disconnecting the clasp on the above and replacing with the same type off of a standard Vostok bracelet.
Just to have a vostok logo on the shark mesh.
I'm sort of thinking of a black shark mesh on a silver brushed case with a silver brushed clasp....... With a vostok logo ;-)
.... How do they blacken the shark mesh straps?

Yes, I have done that. There are a number of different Vostok clasps. Most of them will not work because they interface with the narrow link of the bracelet and attach by a rivet. There is one type of signed Vostok clasp that interfaces with a 20 mm spring pin which will work with a 20 mm shark mesh.

all this time I thought you were referring to this, that's why I gave the advice I gave you.

Hi Matt,

thanks, I think that strap would appeal to me on a case where the ends are concealed.
I wanted the wider 'shark mesh' that doesn't have an end.
It's tricky to adjust and the advice from Dfwcowboy to use a dremel with a cutting wheel was a god-send!
I actually wanted a black mesh strap and I asked the Chinese seller what the coating was...
A week later they got me the answer from the manufacturer 'painted'.
I don't know if this is a translation mistake, and if they mean it's coated?
So I just went for a silver one to begin with.
