Hello Seiko Boys and Girls.
Seiko has been making quite a wave over the last few years and Seiko's latest offering has caught my eyes.
I have been taking a look at the recently released SEIKO Prospex Speedtimer Solar Chronograph and love the look of the Panda variant SSC813P1
However, I'd like to own a reverse panda of the SSC813P1 which unforrtunately seiko doesn't offer.

Can anyone recommend a similar inverted panda (Black dial with white subdials at the 3,6, 9 oclock position) from seiko. Price should be under $2000
Ideally, mechanical/automatic or Solar Powered with 100 metres water resistant case sizes anywhere between 38mm - 42mm?

The SSC813P1

Mechanically speaking the movement here is faultless. Superb build.
The long lugs and bulbous crown guard I feel could have been executed better by Seiko.
I suspect it may look a lot better in the metal in real life compared to online photos
It's a strong contender for my money though. Thanks for the recommendation

These Nano seikos are great and I am tempted to get the SZSJ012 version.
But I feel the prices are creeping up fast.

I'll see if I can score one at a reasonable price. I already have a quartz Chrono albeit a Paul Newman config by an independent brand oceanx.Brilliant watch best enjoyed on a leather strap

Yeah I'd say the SZSJ005 but they're impossible to find now for normal prices. I paid $300 full price for mine. I still get messages from people out of nowhere asking if I want to sell it.

Looks like someone on eBay is selling one for $880.

Longines heritage Chrono diver (1967 reissue)
It has a nice column wheel chronograph movement
WR 300m - 41mm but thin lugs make it wear smaller
Beautiful watch
MSRP $3000 but quite a few NOS available at $1500
I think it was worth the retail price

So, you are looking for a reverse panda, black dial Seiko chrono with 3 white subdials at 3, 6, 9 o'clock positions.... Am I understanding correctly  ?
You are correct

Rest of my Chronographs.
I feel an inverted seiko Chrono would complete the haul here ideally a vintage reissue mechanical.

Smiths Vanguard - they were limited runs - I have the panda but they also did a reverse panda which you see on sale more frequently around £1000 - uses the nice Seiko NE88 (8R28 vertical clutch column wheel)

Given the limited Seiko reverse panda options here.
Going down the rabbit hole I could undertake a mod project.
This one here inspired some consideration but again limits movement to Quartz

I picked up the seiko Nano Universe today.
Awesome chronograph. Scratches the reverse panda itch for now
