I have this old GW1210 that i bought over 10 years ago. I think that the batteries are dead or not very good. However CTL1025 are expensive especially since I need 2

Expensive indeed!! It's a real pity, the watch is very nice, I've not seen one before.

In regards to the missing lettering, I had a metal G similar to yours with the same issue.

What I did was actually get rid of the remaining black lettering with acetone, it looked pretty good with it all silver!

Nope, not worth fixing at all - suggest you ship it to me and I'll look after it :)

yes, havent read that thread, but i have converted a few of these models in the same series to regular battery. all you need to do is cut or unscrew the ribbon cable from the solar panel. the best part is the power saving feature still works so your regular batteries will last even longer |>
