Is this Felca real?

The topics I dislike the most on this board are always those people with less than 10 posts, sometimes even their first post, where they'll ask:

  • Is this eBay watch real?
  • I found this in grandpa's drawer, is it secretly worth $50,000 as I hope? Give me a free valuation.
  • Is "my Rolex" real? Here's a few grainy photos.
Sure, you can always just not click on those topics, but I can side-step the dog droppings in the park as well.

I wouldn't worry too much about Felca's authenticity, I doubt people would fake a Felca.
My concern with a vintage watch is the condition of the movement. Has the movement been replaced, if so, with what, if it's the original movement, when was the last time it was serviced, is it still working to specs?

If you need to service the watch, that could cost you another $150

Actually, might want to see if there's a good, realiable watchmaker near you first and ask around regarding cost of watch service.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, your right though who would fake a Felca lol. Lots of people probably haven't even heard of Felca, as for the watchmaker I should keep my eye out, I haven't found one yet.
Just a little addition...
When FELCA transitioned into TITONI, it was in the 60s.
The trend of design to watches for males didn't go that big to 38mm, or with automatic movement that comes with 25jewels as well as 100m WR.
From the link, the case size matches the first criteria i mentioned. However the last criteria i mentioned doesn't tallies well. Water Resistant up to 10ATM in the 60s? Is that a divers watch? I doubt so...
Automatic movement that comes with 25jewels in the 60s... hmmm... i need some more research on that.
They transitioned in the 60s hmmm interesting I did not know that, I thought it was the 80s, thank you!

Low res pictures of items for sale in this day and age. No images of the movement or service record. The description is also vague sounding. Are you sure you want to bid?

Now I know who’s buying that extended auto warranty.

Yeah, it is very vague for sure, I'm definitely probably going to think about it before I bid. I've compared similar Felca models from the approximate manufacture time (I believe the early 80s) and they have the same layout (writing) on the caseback, same writing on the dial and the Felca logo on the crown and if you look close enough on the grainy picture you can kind of make out the Felca logo. The only thing I'm wary about was I asked the seller if he could show me the movement and he said he didnt have the tools to open the back, so that's kind of sketchy though. If it is genuine it should have a rotomatic movement, which is basically an ETA 2824-2
