Yeah, the Aqua Terra has a superior movement - the 8900 is one of the best calibres out there. It has two barrels, full balance bridge, silicone hairspring, jumping hour hand etc. But - if we're talking this particular blue AT - I would prefer to be looking at the IWC dial any day. It looks cleaner, more coherent, is more easily readable etc. I think it is also more interesting than the Omega. Mark XX also has a far better bracelet, though I prefer the older, fully brushed, look.

I would go with the Mark XX myself, I just like it more.
I love your response and 100% agree

Off topic...Im geniunely Curious as to how much does a poll like this actually bias a purchase decision such as this which is inherently a very personal choice. Lol.

I've bought things don't make sense where the numbers and check boxes don't always add up on paper.. but made me happy regardless. :)

I guess sifting through the opinion of the like minded is no bad thing coming a cross a point that could have been missed.

So one thing I’ve learned so far is apparently IWC movement can be hit and miss. That can be a deciding factor for me. The bracelet felt more comfortable to me and looks like everyone agrees on that. I guess there’s a difference between trying on a watch for 2 min at the store vs owning the piece. Most folks who comment on here already either own the pics or have experience with it. I find that very helpful.

AT for days, between the two, for me - my dad has all but given me his AT GMT and it is a phenomenal watch to behold in the flesh.

IWC. Bracelet is much superior to the AT. I've owned both, the Mark XX has the best bracelet on a sports watch around that price range I've experienced outside of a Rolex.

I do agree it's a bit overpriced for what you get, but if you look at some trusted sellers they often have BNIB ones with warranty pop up for a decent price under MSRP. That's what I would do.

I voted for the AT. Not a fan of the IWC Mark on a bracelet. I think it looks much better on a strap.

I've posted polls like this and ended up going against the majority opinion when buying. The comments helped inform my decision, though. Different people value different things about a watch.

Both of these should be acquired pre-owned only. Otherwise, you're throwing your money away. Secondly, the Breitling looks too big for your wrist. It's a 46 and it's all dial, so it wear even bigger. Throw in the long lugs and it's a beast.

Laco and Stowa make the same thing and they're just as authentic and well made for like a tenth the price.
It is good that Laco and Stowa are there for people who cannot tell the difference. The IWC dial is as good as it gets and the movement will last forever. Obviously highly personal, but I find the Omega design to be gimmicky.

I see it differently than you do.

TL;DR I voted for Aqua Terra blue but hear me out.

I personally like Mark XX a little more as a watch.
I like Aqua Terra blue more as a GADA
I think Aqua Terra naturally belongs with a bracelet, but Mark XX MUST BE ON A LEATHER.

Since you seem to prefer bracelet, I cannot recommend the Mark. I feel like Mark is the superior choice only if you prefer to look smart, mostly stay in the office with a dress shirt, live in a cool region so you don't sweat too much and it doesn't rain a whole lot (or maybe you have a car so your wrist doesn't get in touch with rain) etc etc.

Otherwise AT will be the better choice. In average AT is the best GADA among all watches in that price range.

All around AT is the better pick. As a daily, it is robust. It is cheaper, it has a less "plain" dial with the textiles, the special shaped hands and everything, and it has a display window on the back. Not some work from Leonardo Da Vinci back there but it's nice enough to look at when you're bored. At least better than Mark XX's steel back all day.
