Hi guys,

I recently purchased this watch (brand new) and it's my first luxury piece. Had the following questions, and I just didn't know if this is standard/expected with these watches (first timepiece, so maybe just ignorance):
1. Sometimes on the day/month windows, they start moving prior to midnight and take time to click into the right location i.e., it's not a sudden 'click' change. So for example, when switchign from Tuesday to Wednesday, the window just shows nothing since as it moves over to the next day
2. Same goes for the date hand - sometimes it's a gradual move to the next date and/or it's 5-10mins after midnight

Thanks!

Hi @asfdasdf7!

I also have the current iteration of the Master Control Calendar. My day display takes some time to change. Off-hand I think it's around 10 or 15 minutes, starting just before midnight. My date display takes much longer to switch over than yours - I think it's around 30 minutes. I recall reading in the manual that it can take up to an hour for the date hand to swing across.

This is longer than it takes on my other watches that just have a date display. I've put it down to the complexity of the movement and haven't thought much more about it. In other words, it meets my expectations but of course yours and others' expectations may differ.

Totally normal. Very few watches have an "instantaneous" date change, and even fewer change bang on midnight. I have a Glashutte Original which does have instantaneous date change on the panorama date, but it happens between 3-15 minutes past 12:00 depending on the day. In contrast my JLC creeps slowly over about 45 minutes, and lands on the correct date at some point past midnight (couldn't tell you exactly when).
