We're all aware of the awesome AE1200 aka the Casio Royale but I'd like to see some appreciation for the WV58.

This watch can be had new for around £30 and for that money you get an awful lot,

Radio controlled time
World time
Countdown timer
Alarm
Stop watch

It's a very comfortable and accurate watch and can be had on strap or bracelet, I have both, it's WR to 50m which is plenty for most people and it's super legible and has time displayed in all modes, which is useful, the main time screen also has full date and day of week, the light is bright blue and has a 3 second delay.

I've found the Wave Ceptor updates at around 1am every day without fail and it's always good to know you're on time.

This watch is the one Liam Neeson wore in Non Stop and it played quite a central role as he needed to keep timing 20 minutes, hence I've christened mine the "Non Stop Casio"

Anyway, enough waffle, pictures

And finally, here's Mr Neeson's from Non Stop

So, if you've got one of these hidden gems, let's see it and if not, then I urge you to put one on your list, it's definitely worth more than it's price and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised

You should see it, it's quite a good film and it's got lots of gratuitous Casio content, oh and get yourself a WV58 to wear whilst watching it

I've owned a WV58 for about 7 years now, and it's by far my favourite digital watch. I changed the battery for the first time a couple of weeks ago - pretty amazing that it lasted so long (the manual says it's battery life is only 2 years)! The only thing I don't like about it is the stock bracelet. That thing is a real hair ripper. I replaced it with the bracelet from an old, dead Casio dress watch - it's a little too thin and narrow looking for the size of the watch, but at least it's comfortable.

They are tough affordable watches. My only issue is when the silver paint wears off they aquire that "well used" look which one either likes or does not like.

Just in case anyone is interested in one of these watches, I suggest you get one before the prices rocket skywards, oops too late [emoji23]
