Keeping it simple, here are the pros and cons of each, IMO.
But first some pics (which are not mine, I stole them).
Both house eta movements. But here the Longines is slightly ahead (2892, vs 2836 in Mido).
Longines has more recognition too, it's a more well known brand than Mido.
However, the Hydroconquest is weak in two really basic issues: no applied markers (I'm talking about the new dial, with numbers) and, more than anything, no lume on the seconds hand (it's vital to know if the thing is working down there!).
The red second hand in Mido is really appealing, and lumed of course.
The absence of numbers in Mido is something nice, but I'm not sure on this; the Arabic numbers of the Hydro are appealing too (but it's a shame they are only painted).
The textured dial is a win for Mido, Longines may even be kind of dull (?).
Mido has a display back, which is not a must in a divers watch, so not really a loss for the solid case back of the Longines (which is also nicely engraved btw).
Which would be your choice?
Thanks!
