Is that a Rolex?
If I place this watch next to my Submariner and showed it to someone that knew nothing about watches, I would be willing to bet that they would think the Orient was more expensive. I am amazed how well constructed this watch is on the outside. Even the sweeping second-hand looks as if its gliding (and I know it is a lesser movement than the Rolex, but for some reason it moves very swiftly in this design).
The black face looks dark grey in certain angles and I think that gives the watch distinction. The orange bezel sparkles and the cursive lettering looks very cool. I like that there is a Spanish language day of week option in the date wheel, it gives the watch an additional feature that makes people do a double take when they see it. I have been asked several times what Rolex model it is. The metal band is nice and has a modern look. Size is perfect for me, as I can read everything without difficulty.
My wife gave me this watch as a Christmas present, so it will remain in my collection. I do have a few wish list items for this watch though:
· Not a fan of the button to change the day. I have hit it with my hand inadvertently when getting up from the floor. I also think it takes away from the design.
· Lume is almost non-existent. For a company associated with Seiko, this is clearly a disappointment.
· When the crown is pulled out, it feels flimsy. I am afraid I could break it if I am not careful. None of my other watches has this feeling.
· The clasp at the bottom is thin. This is very apparent if compared to the Rolex or one of my Citizen watches.
