Assuming that two watches are exactly the same (same case, dial, crystal, hands, price, etc.), but one is a swiss made quartz with an ETA movement and the other sports a Miyota 8215 Automatic, which do you choose?

I'd choose the Miyota.Quartz is quartz.

Depends if I'm looking for a quartz watch or an auto.

Depends on what you want out of your intended purchase.

What I would add is that i find "ETA Quartz" to be a hilarious selling point. Last time i checked, quartz is quartz and on top of that, I wouldnt call the Swiss masters in the field of electronic circuitry.

You must not have checked very well, quartz, is not just quartz....

Like anything, there are a number of quality levels in "ETA quartz" movements. They range from ultra-cheap, to very expensive.

This really is one of the stupidest questions I have heard in a while....

The ETA quartz movement hands down
Really? You would pick an ETA 804.112 over a Miyota 8215?

ETA 804.112:

Miyota 8215:

I would go with the Miyota
You would? a Miyota 8215 good for about 10 to 20 sec/day over a ETA 255.561 thermocompensated quartz good to a few seconds a year?

"ETA quartz" is like saying "Eurasia" it covers an awful lot of ground....
