I made similar test with easy-lock clasp I put on 16610.. I was able to source only the short one but finally I am happy as it looks pretty natural with the old bracelet..

Well, from the pic it's clearly more than a couple of millimeters (for that clasp cover itself, that is). It's a great clasp, but definitely too long for me personally. If you like the watch better this way, though, then that's all that matters.

I'd like to see a revised glidelock design at the same length as the previous-generation clasp, or even smaller if possible. Fewer notches with a diver's extension would allow for a much smaller clasp that still has all the adjustability anyone needs.

Nice mod on the 14060! I was hesitant on doing this since the bracelet is hollow and the clasp is rather substantial. Still the best clasp! I'd argue the 114060 is a beast of its own over the 14060

 

I prefer the 14060M to the 114060 because it has the thinner lugs and lug holes. All the modern materials, sapphire crystal and an updated movement but with the styling of a classic 5513.

Yes, but my comment is that you end up with a longer clasp cover in exchange for negligible extra functionality. 2cm of adjustable extension gives you exactly the same options as 1cm of adjustable extension with a 1cm fold-out extension -- you can still get to every point over a 2cm range.

For folks with larger wrists, the really long clasp cover is no problem. On my slender (but hardly tiny) wrist, however, a third of the bracelet is clasp, which looks a bit off. If the clasp cover were even a little shorter, the proportion of clasp to bracelet would be much improved.

 

I have a much larger wrist so it fits me perfectly. You can get a shorter clasp with a 77200 Easylink. It doesnt have the adjustability like the Glidelock but its shorter and still gives you 5mm of adjustment with solid construction.

 

Very nice, now if only you could get maxi dial and hands that would be my perfect watch [emoji6]

Nice. I swapped the diving clasp on my 14060M with a smaller 78790 clasp from the GMT and E2. I don't find the big clasp comfortable. It also rattles like crazy.

 

Great idea. Always wondered if anyone did this, and behold! Was it an easy replacement?

 

Once parts were in hand, it took all of about 5 minutes to swap over the clasp.

 

A profitable side business would be reselling poached glidelock clasps and bracelets.

Well, a brand new 97200 bracelet from Rolex will set you back $2000 but they wont sell one to you unless you have a broken one to trade in. The second hand market is much more if you can find one.
