Just spotted this new piece on Casio Europe's site. Its dorky and retro and I love it. I also like the stainless version. I can't find it anywhere in the states. Anyone know anything about when it might come out here?

You're both right, it does look like an almost deliberate homage to that Bond watch. I didnt even know about that watch until just now, which is why I love WUS, I learn new things all the time. Hopefully the AE will be available in the States soon, the others in that series are, no reason this one shouldn't follow suit, right?

Definitely has a great retro look to it. The layout of the "dial"/LCD really is quite similar to the Seiko G757. More so than the old Casio AE-20W.
I personally prefer the looks of the gold LCD version. The contrast between black and gold looks nice, as does the green world time map. The standard version looks great as well.
It is a shame that the silver version doesn't actually have a stainless case. That would have been really cool!

I am in Canada and I got mine on amazon.com. After shipping is 27-28 bucks. Cheaper than eBay this time. I have a casio gw-5000. But this one is more comfortable and have all the functions plus more. Like one time alarm and timer setting down to the seconds. Best feature is the operation tone mute. Most watches doesn't have that. Being in the military, beeping on watches while operating them are now allowed.

Have a dw5600c-9cv and dw5600c on the way. But those will be stored because they are antique.

I didn't like the printed "world time" and "illuminator" on the case. It cheapens the look. I removed it with some Goof Off. Take a tissue and twist a sharp point. Add a drop of Goof Off and gently remove the printing. Be careful not to touch the black bezel. For adjusting the bracelet, some of the links were stubborn to remove. I use a little dish soap rubbed into it first to make it easier. In the end, not too bad looking for a bargain basement watch.
