A cheap, badly proportioned, pale imitation of its predecessor, with every bit of Monta design DNA stripped out. But at least they raised the price $300. IMO this thing is a total loser. Spirit ZT demolishes it. I hope they do a better job with the third gen Ocean King that they keep delaying.

I agree with DaveK. I think they are capable of doing much better.

However, these are only opinions, and should not impact anyone's decision to get one if they like it.

 

New? Wasn't there a big discussion about the updated Skyquest last year?

 

The indices and bezel script really cheapen the look. Definitely a miss for me. I had the ocean king v2 a few years back and was really impressed with the build quality. Loved the bracelet too.

 

The hands and dial are much better on this new version, last version had short hands. The bezel is a little too wide though and bezels numbers too large.

 

I’ve been an admirer of Monta’s designs and more specifically the previous generation Skyquest. The design was more unique and polished in my opinion. I’ve tried on both and while the latest generation looks better in person, I feel the previous generation is more aesthetically pleasing in either photos or in person.

I cannot express how much I do not like monta. The most overpriced and generic watches on the market today IMO. Looks like it was designed by chat gpt. But hey, give the lugs a wide bevel and watch guys will apparently call it good value and open their wallets.

If it actually did, it would have sold at higher prices. But it didn't, so they had to slash the price in half (yeah, remember that?)

 

For me, something doesn’t quite match up/sync together on this one. It’s the bezel width and double dot along with the poor legibility combination of the dial, indices, and hands. But, maybe I’m in the minority.
