This may be old news but I just found out about it today. I received an email from Long Island Watch that they now have in stock the new Orient Bambino in a smaller size; i.e., 36.4mm. They look great and I am seriously thinking about owning one. I am very glad to hear this. I really like the smaller size watches and have sold all of mine that were over 40mm. I have many vintage watches from the 50's, 60's, and 70's that are smaller (less than 38mm) and I guess the vintage ones are what got me to liking smaller sizes. Several companies are now offering some of their models in the smaller sizes and I hope this trend (if you want to call it a trend) continues.

Exactly what Bambino needed IMHO since I always found 40mm to be too large for that classic design... and for the caliber also: the date window always too far away from the sphere's edge!

Now it's just a matter of waiting for the proper model (for my tastes) to appear (the rose gold one is near the mark, were it not that I already own a 1961 18K gold Longines).

The all steel or the mixed steel case gold accents in sphere... maybe a subseconds no-date model...

These smaller Bambinos didn't seem to get that much attention but Mark from Long Island Watch did make a video covering these models. I think they're a nice down size from the regular Bambino case size, but I wish the lug width was 18mm instead of 17mm and it seems like these models seem to command a higher price point at the moment than their bigger counterparts.

You can also try to find 36mm Orient President. They are a bit pricey now because of their rarity but they are worth. I own white and blue dial president at present. Both with baton markers. I had the black dial as well but sold like a couple of weeks ago. I was looking for Bambinos at first but since they were big I bought Orient Presidents which are 36mm.

They need to correct the fact that it is marketed as a women's bambino by many secondary retailers. It looks so much better and proportioned in the smaller size IMO
Maybe it's all of us who should correct the understandment that wearing something "feminine" somehow makes our manlyhood to drop off (which, in turn, it's the basis of some really outlandish rationales on why some object ends up being "feminine" or "masculine").
