Finally a Snoopy that's affordable for me. Unfortunately just as difficult to obtain (although artificially difficult).

Same here - NOT Flying out of town to get to a city with a Swatch Store to camp out and get one. Not even considering waiting out the initial hype to fly out and get one later.

BUT, I'm not opposed to asking my parents to keep an eye out for one at their local Swatch Store later this year during their weekly Mall-Trawl sessions :D

I just get a kick out of Swatch’s competing/conflicting simultaneous lines of effort:

LOE 1: Decrease the prevalence of discounts and increase MSRP on Omega watches in excess of inflation each year, as part of a goal to improve the perception of the Omega brand in the eye of consumers…as more expensive = more better

LOE 2: Prostitute the Omega brand by putting the logo on numerous inexpensive “bioceramic” watches

Curious to see which effort wins out in the long run.

The Swatch Group does a lot of things wrong with Certina, Longines and Blancpain, but with the Swatch brand and especially with the MoonSwatch, the Group seems to be doing everything right.

I have to agree. It’s great for Swatch. I have to wonder what the thought process is. Ex. Sooner or later (within the next 10-20 years)…the population of folks willing to spend $3,000+ on a watch is going to decrease dramatically. Build-up Swatch brand recognition to that of its glory days, as they’ll be more likely to make their money off moderately priced watches in the long run.

This makes the most sense of any recent release. A silly cartoon character on a silly plastic watch. I am completely on board, and want one.
I see these comments all the time. Are you or people in general just unaware of the Silver Snoopy Award or do you still feel Snoopy is weird to have on a watch despite the actual connection?

Buy yourself a sleeping bag, camping stove and kettle, and settle yourself outside your (Not so) local Swatch boutique.

Just hope someone brings hot soup 😂

Several reasons why I would NEVER buy a Fauxmega Moonswatch:

Reason #1: It doesn't even really look like a Speedmaster Moonwatch because two of the subdials are in the wrong place! The Speedy's subdials are located at the 3, 6 and 9-o'clock positions:
Image

The Moonswatch's subials are at the 2, 6 and 10-o'clock positions. This is why it blows my mind every time I hear someone say that the Moonswatch looks exactly like a Speedy. If the subdials are in the wrong place, then it doesn't look like a Speedmaster Moonwatch.
Image

Reason #2 - Pagani frickin' Design does a better job of approximating the Speedmaster than Swatch does for less than half the price with far superior materials and specs. Must be embarrassing.

Reason #4 - The existence of the Bulova Lunar Pilot:

The Moonswatch is literally the most brand-whorey watch that I have ever seen and it just makes me cringe. It's not a cheap Omega, it's an overpriced Swatch.

But Swatch are not trying to copy a Omega Speedmaster….theyre made of plastic and most of them are crazy colours……..besides they own Omega, why do they need to copy their own watch 🤔

Pagani are trying to copy the Omega Speedmaster.

I've had two speeds, only one now and up to 5 of the little biro ceramic editions. The white Snoopy one is on the cards too.
I love 'em.
They are well made and bright and light and heaps of fun.
20mm lugs mean strap changes are simple and easy.
They have free battery changes, forgiving warranty ( covering broken pushers and lugs) and scratched crystals.
The Cheap knock-offs are nothing more than IP theft from a region that doesn't recognise IP
If it gets people wearing a watch ( and millions have now done so) and only a tiny percentage then go out and buy a steel Speedy, then its a win.
Much better than if they go out and buy a Smart Watch that is constantly saying "Sorry, I didn't understand that"
"Failure is not an option"
