I took my daughter to the new Swatch store in Tampa this evening and was talking to the salesperson about how successful the Omega and Blancpain collaborations have been and he told me some “insider” news.

“Well, they just told us,” he said, “Get ready for the next two. Longines [he pronounced the S] and Hamilton!” He said they should be out mid-year.

The Longines will be a Swatch style Moonphase and the Hamilton will be a Khaki Field. Not surprising, I guess, since they’re all Swatch brands

Yep, you heard it here first, folks….I think.

See my response in the Longines forum. I'll believe it when I see it.

It makes no sense to pair Swatch with another low end affordable brand like Hamilton. Even Longines does not feel premium enough to benefit much for such a collab.

I call bs.

From my perspective, and I suspect the perspective of most watch enthusiasts, the whole Swatch Collaboration is a little silly since we'd opt for the actual watch. However, for casual fans who think it is crazy to spend more than $200 on a watch, this is a viable option. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems that these collaborations are more about iconic swatch watches than luxury watches. The Speedy and the fifty fathoms are iconic swatch watches that just happen to also be luxury watches. I'm happy with my Hamiltons and my Longines. And if I ever really wanted a Speedy I'd get that since the swatch moonwatch isn't for me, but there obviously is a market for them. 🤷
