I need some help with your opinion.
I bought Orient Ray II from reputable AD recently. Right after setting the time, I noticed that the crown would not tighten to be flush with the watch. I checked the original Mako I have as well as official pictures from Oirent USA for Ray II and AD's picture on their web site. Those all look pretty flush.
I sent AD the picture and they were very responsive and immediately sent out a replacement and when I receive that, I sent in my original watch and asked them to check it and let me know what was wrong since the replacement was about same as original in terms of the crown not being flush with the watch body.
I got a response from them today and basically telling me that there's nothing wrong with the watch (first and second one). They are telling me that it's simply a reflection of the crown bevel. For me, I can clear see the physical gap and even a thread that's not being covered by the crown.
If anyone has Ray II, can you check your watch and compare that to the photo I've attached and let me know whether this is "normal" or not?
Thanks!
