Hi
new to be considering to add a Panerai to my collection. Budget is 6-7k and I want a luminor. The new 40mm looks awesome too

How do I buy? Online direct from Panerai or thru an AD? Also should I expect any discount off the list price?

I am dc metro area (VA, MD, DC) but willing to travel or have the watch shipped to me too

Thanks

The best advice I can give is if you are satisfied with the retail price, go to a Panerai boutique and buy it there. You will have a fantastic customer experience, the opportunity to create a relationship with the boutique people who will for sure send you home with some goodies, send you emails about novelties and special events. And you can have champagne while they put on the strap of your choosing on your watch. Also an extra strap is usually a possibility.
I have always been treated fantastically at Panerai boutiques (ADs are different).

Appreciate all the replies and help.

The nearest boutique that the website showed me is in NYC. I see one in Toronto that I might be able to go on an upcoming trip.

I just saw some review video ( I believe it was the time teller) that said that Panerai's have a discount. Hence I asked as I have never tried to buy one before

Thanks

I got a significant discount from an AD on both of mine. Personally, I would never pay retail for a Panerai.

what's more important thing for me is to try the watch on before shopping for better price.
it's a big purchase. and TBH. i'm very much against the idea of buying something sans voir !.
if this is your first Panerai. it would be a good idea to try a few pieces on first. you'll never know. you might like the 42 or even the 44mm.
best of luck.

If you can go to and AD or boutique. Go in person. Discount may depend on the model (if any). Popular models don't stay in stock long and due to the current situation and possible supply chain problems. I would call to see if they have enough stock to make it worthwhile to even go.

Some may give a discount (AD more than B). Some money off, include tax in retail price or offer a couple of extra straps.

All valid points. I went to our local Tourneau and tried out 44 mm luminor and smaller luminor due. Both very different feels and both appealed to me. Luminor due felt that it would be such a easy daily wear for me, however both have their strong points

They didn't have the 40mm but had it in their corporate stock. I have to pay 50% deposit to get it to their store to even try it. Not sure I am willing to do that. However they didn't even entertain my question on discounts etc

I would be happy if you can message me AD's contacts that would offer a discount, not sure what the rules are about posting them directly in the discussion . My trip to Toronto is no longer happening. So visiting a boutique might not be in the short term future

Thanks

I have 2 Panerai's and got decent discounts on both (15-20%) at an AD. I have a PAM 312 and PAM 619. Currently waiting for my dealer to contact me back about a PAM01223 and didnt ask about any discounts...yet.

I purchase a fair amount of watches from my AD that carries Panerai so I am kind of anticipating a discount, however I havent purchased any watches in todays market so not sure what to expect and if I will actually purchase it without a discount.
