Perlon straps- Eulit vs. everyone else?

Hi guys - I have one Perlon strap from Eulit and am really happy with it. I always hear that Eulit's perlon straps are the best, but is there really a big difference between theirs and other brands?

Reason I'm asking is I want to order a few more but would prefer to use some Amazon gift cards that I have. Amazon does not carry Eulit but has some Perlon straps from some other brands like DaLuca, Wrist & Style etc. If these are a lot worse I'll just order Eulit straps.

Make sure it is real Perlon and not braided nylon.
There are a couple of pretty detailed threads here on WatchUSeek about genuine Perlon (trade mark) vs. braided nylon being sold as Perlon. With Eulit you can't go wrong.

Perlon and Nylon both are Polyamide but different fibres and of course made out of different basics (Perlon = Caprolactam, Nylon = Hexamethylendiamin + Adipin) which ends up in a different fracture strain. All other properties are somehow comparable.

I have something of an obsession with perlon straps and have gone through a few. Eulit are the best (although I find the end sometimes frays and I have to carefully singe it with a lighter). I have one from March LA.B that is also good. The few others I have tried (from Amazon iirc) have been trash; they're simply not stiff enough, and do not have a tight enough weave. You should really check out MN straps, like by The Watch Steward or Erika's Originals, if you like perlon straps.

I had some cheapies when I first started collecting, I thought they were junk. Then a few months ago I bought some Eulits when I was making an order on Holben's...and it was a light bulb "oh, this is what a perlon is!"

Now that I found these, I'm not tempted to try any others.

The new Eulit lines are particularly nice...Baltic is single-weave, Atlantic is double-weave. They're both one-piece, with a ladder-style buckle. Personally, I find double weave to be too thick and stiff for this approach; I'd rather go single weave, and save double weave for a 2-piece strap.

Single weave is exceptionally slim, much like nylon in, say, a NATO. It's probably thinner than seat-belt style nylon, actually. This thinness is important at times for a single-pass style; sometimes the spring bar doesn't clear the case by very much. But it can look odd on a thicker watch.

Comparing Eulit to most others...there are other decent brands but they're hit or miss. The good ones also aren't that much cheaper. Ladder buckles are usually stamped, and thus not terribly robust, but the generic straps are particularly flimsy.

Finally: the Baltic model's available in colors I want. Generally quieter, subdued colors; bright nylon colors just always seem to flaunt being cheap. And gaudy and tasteless. YMMV, of course.

Thanks Gangrel - yeah, the one I have is a Baltic and I like it a lot - probably going to get one or two others for my 18 & 20mm watches. I have one watch with 22mm lugs that I want a Perlon strap for, but unless I've overlooked something, the only Eulit Perlon straps that are 22mm are of the double-weave variety.
