Preferred Glidelock Setting..

Relatively new with the Glidelock feature. A bit of a research, I read somewhere that mid setting is when you can see one notch.

That being said, what is yours adjusted to for a more suitable stock setting and why? At the moment, I have it set to when I can see two notches. Tightest I’ve had to set it when it’s cold, is when I only see one notch. Most at 4 notches. I have a 7.25 inch wrist.

Just wanted to know what do most if not all prefer?

I sized my bracelet in a way, such that the tightest setting on guidelock is for normal use (aka worn on skin) and the full adjustment is to expand the bracelet to accommodate wet suit thickness.

Don't think there's a right/wrong way to do it, but I don't see why I'd ever need to shrink the bracelet tighter than normal/daily wear.

For the non-divers, do whatever you'd like ... because who cares? I suppose if someone wishes to wear their watch on wrist and at times outside of jacket during winter (skiing as am example), then my method would still work?

I wear mine as follows. The short size is comfortable for daily wear. Then If I want to wear over clothing or a wetsuit, I can adjust the Bracelet clasp to a large enough size to accommodate whatever I am needing to wear. Vance.

Hello all. As some of you know, I just purchased a new sub. Still relatively new with glidelock, can you please help which is more of an ideal setup, or which one you prefer? I believe I have a 7.25” wrist

With my Bluesy, I have one link taken off at 6 o’clock, with a 4 x 6 setup. The best and most comfortable adjustment for the glidelock is at this setting:

On the sub I recently acquired, with the full links this is the comfortable setup:

Now I’m trying to decide whether to remove one link on the SS, or add the extra link back to the TT.

I’m trying to minimize trial and error. Your thoughts and/or Insights would be greatly appreciated.

I’m so excited to get my SS up and running. The only reason I want to leave the SS as is to leave it “unsized” :)

…For the record, I don’t dive but would like to someday.

For ALL Rolex metal bracelets, I like to add as many links possible, then wear the adjustment to the most inner (tightest) setting. I like the clasp to be a double decker metal sandwich for as much stiffness as possible.
Less ability to wiggle side-to-side in that sandwich…..fishtailing if you will.
This goes for Jubilees and Oysters…..and the ONLY time I adjust is in heat making it larger with Easy-Link.
Regarding the Submariner…..same deal…..I want to begin with as much extension as possible for wearing over 5mm wet suit. But when not diving, inner settings for most secure sandwich channel.

Many thanks M1!

I may ultimately remove one link as with all the links on, can’t have it fully snug, in case I lose weight as well.

I'm picky about bracelet fit. For me, I need more expansion since I live in the tropics. I had mine sized to lock on the second notch for every day wear with more room to size up. I like the watch to sit on my wrist so that I don't have to constantly pull it back or spin my wrist to read the time. It's a difficult fit to find without being too tight.

I wish Rolex had a spring option like the Tudor Pelagos. That's my every day beater and I never have to adjust it. Best adjustable clasp design I've ever used. I'm actually surprised Rolex hasn't adopted it.

@MackyP your GMT looks great on the jubilee. Enjoy.

Thanks D! Did you mean yours is set all the way almost touching the clasp, or you can actually see two notches as shown in my previous pictures?

In regards to the springy adjustment Tudor has, I heard some don't use that available function and don't go beyond the setting where it activates it. I also find the clasp showing the spring action hideous :)

Yes, jubilee helps to change the flavor a bit considering my DJ41 on jubilee is gone.

I have a 7.75 wrist and mine is generally one notch showing, sometimes 2. One is usually the sweet spot.
