I have a GG-1000 that I bought about a year and a half or two years ago used from eBay. I've just I haven't worn it for a few months and I just got it out to change the battery in it. However I'm a little confused. On the back case it says 5476 GG-1000 and all the battery changing tutorials on YouTube show a watch with 2x SR927SW batteries. However when I've opened mine up it has one CR2025 battery. Is this correct? I can't say that I've ever thought for one moment that it was a fake. Is there something odd going on here? I'm in the UK by the way but I'm not sure where the watch was originally purchased from.

Yeah, I never would have guessed from looking at it though. I've worn occasionally over the past couple of years and never suspected anything at all. Like I say the module works exactly as it should do in terms of settings and functions (possibly the compass and thermometer might be a little bit off but they are definitely doing something).

But what I don't get though is this, how can the counterfeiters make a watch that is so similar to the original in terms of the module and programming (if that of the right word for it)? I get how they could mould a fake strap and make a çlone of the case, hands, etc, but how do they get the module to act the same? Are they using the same components from the factory as Casio?
