I rarely open a new thread on any forum but thought I would attempt to tap into the knowledge base of our more learned members regarding the Rolex 3130, 3131, and 3132 calibre movements. I have found that I have come to prefer no date watches which are much easier for me to wear in rotation, just to pick up on the fly, wind, and go without having to set the date.
The Rolex website lists both the Air King and Milgauss powered by the 3131; the Explorer 1, the 39mm Oyster Perpetual, and the Cellini Time (no date) by the 3132, and the No Date Submariner 114060 by the 3130. That leads to my question: What are the essential differences between the three movements and what is the upgrade potential for each, keeping in mind Basel 2018 is just slightly one month away? Speculation would seem appropriate here regarding upgrades and for which model(s).
