Hi everyone,
I'm in the market for a new automatic watch and was hoping to get some recommendations. My budget is around $1,000, and I'm looking for something versatile that I can wear both casually and in more formal settings. I appreciate classic designs but am open to exploring something with a modern twist.
Any suggestions on brands or specific models that fit within this price range? Also, I'd love to hear any insights into reliability and build quality from those with firsthand experience.
Thanks in advance!

If you are looking to keep things casual AND dressy - Tissot PRX is a hard watch to look away from in this pricepoint. The Hamilton Khaki Field is another winner, but it definitely wears a bit more casual than formal (though I have worn it in both circumstances just fine)

Seiko Alpinist is another personal favorite from my side in this range.

Is it me or are there a lot of threads asking this same question recently?

i think we need more parameters. what kind of casual situations? anything that is not formal settings or situations involving water, swimming? Then water resistance is a requirement.
do you like steel bracelet watches or prefer leather band/anything but steel?

Without knowing more details....i do agree with an earlier suggestion about the Tissot PRX (which i owned at one point) is a good versatile watch with 100m water resistance on an integrated steel bracelet.
