I have a dozen watches in my collection. Some cost a lot some don’t . When anyone asks which is my favorite I always answer the same. Whichever one I’m wearing. And it’s true. Today I’m loving this islander dive watch. Especially since I switched to the Islander, 22 mm rubber strap. Reliable and accurate NH36 automatic w- hacking. Ceramic bezel, sapphire crystal, 43 mm DLC coated case, great lume , screw down crown with offset guards 200m WR. I don’t know.. just seems like a lot of watch for $350 buckaroo’s. I have no connection to Islander watch. Just impressed with my choice today so thought I would give it a shout out.

Nice one!

Islander has entirely replaced Seiko for me in this price range. They feel like what I liked about Seiko, priced right for what it is, and feels like the attention to detail and care is there.

So you mean you actually like Seikos? Because that’s what that Islander is trying to be.

I’ve been looking at this one for a while. What are your thoughts on it? Do you find the polished black DLC too shiny?
It’s no more shiny than the ceramic bezel. Not sure if the bezel is DLC or if that’s even possible. Under certain artificial light they both kind of have a black chrome reflection. Which I quite like. TBH tho I did not really care for the black steel DLC bracelet it came with. But love the $50 Islander rubber strap on it. It’s a perfect match IMO.

Marc is trying hard to step aside from the earlier days when a lot of their watches were very much paying homage to (or copying) Seiko. Nothing he doesn't outwardly admit these days. The quality to price ratio is moving on up in range. He sure does sell a LOT of watches because of his kind demeanor and overall approach to his customers likes and dislikes.

I'm a fan!

White and blue Northport, 38mm SKX style diver you can't beat the price for the quality and upgrades to the parts and specs.
I like my Islander and I agree that the Northport is a lot of watch; I am very impressed withy mine. I believe it is 40.5mm tho. I have never asked Marc a question that I didn't get a quick response for.
