If you read the safety daIa sheet you will see it contains a hydrocarbon solvent called naptha. This does not mean it will damage a resin strap, I have no idea about that. Just about every aerosol spray lube will contains some hydrocarbon.

With 21 posts in the thread, I just have to ask what "it" you're referring to, but I'm guessing it was the "silicone Airsoft lube."

Neither of the other two products discussed since this thread's resurrection -- 303 or Armorall's flagship product -- come in aerosol containers.

Personally I think that washing and rinsing your watch is enough and using chemicals that could potentially absobed into your skin just to get another year out of the band is not worth it IMHO. Getting 5-10 years out of a resin band with heavy use it phenominal. Resin regardless of quality will break down with time when exposed to the elements.

I also like to clean my resin watches with Hydrogen Peroxide diluted with water (30/70) for 1 hour and rinsing them right after and letting them air dry. Never had a resin band break down due to this even after years of abuse.

I use silicon oil applied with a cotton swab. I put it on heavily in the evening, and in the morning I wipe it with a soft tissue to absorb any oils left on the surface. I do this every 4 to 6 months, and so far my watch straps look like new. I saw this procedure on another web site that I cannot find anymore. So far, it has worked great for me on my Casio watch straps.
