Straight End-links On Curved Watch Case ?

How do you think about a bracelet with straight end-links on a watch case that is not made for it? For example if you want an after-market mesh bracelet it surely will come with straight end-links.

Do you like it?

Are straight end-links more prone to break than solid curved end-links (especially when the lugs are long and wide like 22mm or more)?

Why it's so rare to see Rolex owners wearing their watches on bracelets with straight end-links?

I've seen Rolex on Nato, Perlon and even leather straps, but not on straight end-links bracelet. So I wonder whether it's ugly too look or too fragile to wear (given the cost of a Rolex).

The ones above look quite good but I think my brain is trained to view curved fitted end links as a more natural look. I don't see why straight ones would be any more prone to breakage.

It appears to me that if you use the original curved end-links, if one of the tips of the springbars fails the bracelet won't fall off immediately due to the friction between the end-link and the lugs. Most of straight end-links are smaller and seem to be more fragile. It could easily fall off of one of the springbar tips fails.

I had a Limes Endurance with straight end links, and it looked pretty cool, IMO. Looked better that way.

Yes, no big deal. I have watches with both curved bracelet end links and straight end links, I like them both.

Mesh, either shark or Milanese, has to be straight and looks better than way.
Yeah, this was my first thought. Any other kind of metal bracelet looks odd to me without fitted endlinks, though.

I think arcadelt had it right in his post above: you don't see it because people who want to wear their Rolexes on a steel bracelet are going to use the very nice bracelet that came with the watch.

I would only consider this with a Milanese bracelet, otherwise it looks unfinished. The straight ends always bothered me about the Tudor Ranger bracelet.

The impression that I have got from years of reading WUS is that its a no no.

But thinking for myself ... I actually think it looks OK.
