I've been on the bargin hunt lately and developed an interest in Alba, Pulsar, etc, and somehow got a little focused on Lorus. I think there's a lot of deep value to be sifted out and I've found a lot of enjoyment with what I've ended up.

These titanium field watches are discussed a whole lot, had to snag one and see for myself. It's really just a beautiful, simple watch that makes you smile.

It is the verifiable "strap monster" and I've had it on a few 18mm natos. I was importing a few watches from the UK, so it made sense to order, but I think if you are in the US, it's probably priced at the top of what I'd pay. I was able to find this Lumibrite watch way cheaper on ebay.

I love vintage digitals and I found these terrific examples:

The full-size watch was in amazing condition, still with the original price tag on the back. The women's/mid-size needed a little work, but it's a full SS screwback with 100m WR and a cooler ship's wheel graphic than the stupid fish on Casios. Both all Japan, under $40 together.

Again, really enjoying the field watch too, I don't have many titanium watches and it has a great screwback with the wave logo.

Anyway, let's talk some Loruses. What do you have?

My Dad has worn a Lorus Mickey Mouse watch for more than 40 years. He's had to have the battery changed several times and replaced the band, but it still keeps ticking away.

I may have to check out those vintage Lorus digitals, as I find myself wanting a digital watch for casual wear.

The Lorus Alpinist mash up is a darling of a couple Brit watch Youtubers.
I think its the US Amazon algorithm. If you type in Lorus watch, that one doesn't appear on US Amazon until the fourth or fifth page, and you have to wade through the other brands US Amazon seems to constantly push.

......that and the price of Lorus watches has increased just over the last two years.
The Lumibrite was $50 on US Amazon two years ago.....then disappeared for a while (only available on UK Amazon)....its now showed up again on US Amazon for $90.

It uses the Y676 movement, which is basically the 7S26. So no handwinding or hacking.

Also, the USDM kinda drives discussion and popularity of watches and these aren't officially distributed in the U.S., so that sets back the popularity.

I need this in my life

The facts it’s got a 7S26 on the inside. Dammed sexy.
Yeah, agreed on all counts. I guess it just has a 7S and I'm sure the bracelet is folded, etc. But if it was under $100 to the US I think it'd be a cool, fun watch, like a big Seiko 5 basically.
