are they good? recently picked one up for 209$ on sale and am really happy with it. surprisingly it dose not feel tinny and its not too light and feels solid, it has a good comfortable leather strap and a really interesting dial layout that i came to really like, its a cheap good wathc i really enjoy owning and wearing. but have noticed many watch snobs really look down on people who wear them. just wondering why this is even though I have not experienced this shade yet. some of their line are defiantly not fashion watches IMO.

Rule #1 of watch club is buy and wear what you like.

Rule #2 of watch club is don’t tell others what to wear.

You like the watch…wear and enjoy…does it matter what others think of it?

If they're selling them for $150-200, that means they are building them for $20. They're not really a watch brand, and yes, they're all fashion watches. Nothing about them is any different from a Vincero or a MVMT or DW or whoever. You can choose to be bothered by that or not, but let's not kid ourselves. "Has a mechanical movement" doesn't automatically get you out of that category.

Tommy Hilfiger is as fashion brand as they get.
With that said, the styling looks pretty decent.
If the specs and construction are good for the money, I see no issue.

Usually the issue with fashion brands is you'll pay a lot of money for basic material, poor construction and a very basic movement.

If these issues do not apply to this watch and you like how it looks, wear it and be happy.

Outside of watch nerds, most people won't care what watch you're wearing.

Between this post and your other one about a department store watch giving Hamilton a run for its money; I don’t know how sincere you are being vs. being a troll to get your post count up.

Hilfiger is the very definition of a fashion brand, nothing wrong with it. There is a fashion watch subforum where I’m sure others will feel similarly with you.

If you are trying to share an honest opinion why not do a review of the watch. At least that way we know you’re critically thinking about why this fashion watch is good.

What do the pushers control?

And is the left subdial a dual time or an AM/PM indicator? Either way, based on the picture you provided, it doesn't appear to be functional, as its hand appears to be pointing directly at the 24 hour marker while the time is 10:09. If it's a dual time, it should be pointing a little bit past the 24 hour marker; if it's an AM/PM indicator, it should be pointing either slightly past the 10 hour marker or the 22 hour marker.

And are the day date subdials functional?

If the pushers and subdials are functional, I'd be genuinely impressed. If they're not, you have your answer as to why someone might consider this watch a 'fashion' watch.

Now, I have a better understanding of this post in one of your previous threads.[/QUOTE]

Its a disposable fashion watch, nothing more.....

I’m unfamiliar with Tommy Hilfiger watches but it’s entirely possible they may have non-fashion watch models.

What do the pushers do since this isn’t a chronograph? Do you like it? Can we see some pictures on your wrist?

watch looks like a chrono, has chrono pushers (what they do?) but a chrono it is not
This is my only issue with it. It's not something any more traditional or refined or non-fashion watchmaker would do. It's usually a sign of a very cheap movement and cheap implementation of the movement/case. You could do something similar and more refined with smaller pushers flush with the case - but that's more expensive.

When we see fake chronos on here, an obvious tell is sometimes that they have chrono pushers but aren't a chronograph. It's a cost-cutting look and feel, IMO.

Tommy Hilfiger are Fashion First, Watchmaker Not.

BUT that doesn't mean they can't release good product. My 1985 Automatic is 20 years on now, never been serviced and never missed a beat. Its still going as strong today, as it was on day one, and doesn't look to be planning to hiccup anytime soon. Heck, its STILL on the original leather strap, though I can't say how long THAT statement is going to hold up anymore (that strap is going to fail any moment now!)

4 cringe-worthy moments in one post. Depending on your stance on fashion watches, it could be 5 😂😂😂

1) use of the phrase cringe-worthy
2) mine says hi
3) Crocs in the wrist shot
4) knock off Crocs

Haven't picked up this watch in +10 years. Good thing OP posted while I'm working from home today.

Mine says hi!

There's nothing intrinsically wrong with fashion watches. Before I really got into watches, I bought a Skagen watch among others. Slim Bauhaus type styling, and very enjoyable to wear. I would prefer to pick them up in a sale rather than pay full price, but that applies to all watches really.

Tommy Hilfiger aren't going to ruin their reputation by selling bad stuff, are they? Same as their clothes. Most likely good quality but priced towards the top for similar products.

For much the same reason, I bought a Versace watch. On reflection the dial is probably a little bit small for a 40mm watch, as there's a large greek key bezel, but it's got a ETA 2824 inside. Again I took the view that Versace wouldn't sell rubbish.
