I have had mine since it came out and it’s been fine.

It only gets worn occasionally though, but if it’s anything like the original (My first watch aged 11) it should take a licking, and keep on ticking.

 

The new 34mm Marlins have a $20 Seagull ST6 based movement I would expect better durability from the automatic Marlins with the Miyota. My mechanical Times only gets worn occasionally and should be fine but as an every day watch if it lasted a year or two I would be happy.

Thanks for the reply. I wish Timex could have sourced a Japanese movement for the 34mm, but I assume there wasn’t really an off the shelf option that would have fit. The 40mm is too big for me for this style of watch

 

 

I bought the black dial one a few years ago. The crown popped out the first time I tried to set it and I had to return it for a new one. The new one was fine, but sold it because it was a little too small for me. It is a very light watch, and doesn't feel very substantial.

 

Yeah, the crown popping out seems to account for the majority of the complaints I see about this watch

 

I’ve only had my Marlin for a few weeks now, but for $109 brand new I’m very happy with it. At list price I would probably keep looking.

 

Bumping this up to see if anyone else has some long term ownership experiences to share

 

Owned a 2018 black dial, 34mm Marlin since new. Started losing time and has low amplitude in 2025. Wore the watch a few times per month.
