Hi,
This is my first post. I came across this forum whilst researching Victorniox watches... I have recently bought an Airboss Mach 2 auto and infantry GMT Quartz. I have been trying to find out what movement is used in the Airboss Mach 2. It doesn't seem to be very accurate at all, losing about 1 second every 2 hours! I have been unable to find much info about it on the web and wondered if an expert on here could shed any light...
cheers,
Mike

Hello, I hate to say this, but I think your watch may be a fake. The bezel is all screwed up; can't be rotated like a real Mach 2 watch, a "60" versus a lumenessent triangle, and finally, the lack of minute chapters all along its periphery. Google "Swiss Army Mach 2" to see what a real one looks like. The real one uses an ETA 2824 movement which can be very accurate if adjusted properly. Sorry, heb

Sorry it's a Mach 1 not mach 2. I don't think it is fake - I bought it from a reputable dealer. I have found the movement is and ETA 2824. If you google v.25091 which is engraved on the back it comes up. If it is fake it is a top job lol

Yes a Mach 1. I have this same watch and I'm actually wearing it right now. I actually like this watch a lot. I know some on WUS don't have many good things to say about this brand, but it have three Victorinox SA watches and I like them all. My Alliance quartz rivals my radio controlled Citizen for accuracy. This watch keeps decent time as well for an automatic.

From what I have read, it too has an ETA 2824 movement. Can't really discuss the movement with any great knowledge, but I've read that it is a really good movement. Many autos use it. I have a few watches with this same movement.

I will say though that the bracelet in the pic is not the stock bracelet for this watch. The stock bracelet is actually very nice. I have it on this watch. Your pic shows some space between the end curved link piece and the lugs, which isn't there with the stock bracelet.

Nice watch though. How do you like the infantry GMT Quartz? I'd like to see some pics if you have the chance.

Thanks.

No that's is not the stock bracelet - I bought it with the leather strap and didn't like it so I have bought the proper bracelet but just put this one on until it arrives. Here are some pics of the Infantry GMT - I like it a lot :) Bizarrely I bought this with the metal strap but decided it was too blingy so I bought the leather strap for it!

OK I've just done a controlled test over 24hrs. The control clock I used was my iPad - which I assumed to be accurate. Bothe the Mach 1 and the infantry GMT gained 4 seconds over the ipad. Maybe this means the iPad isn't quite as accurate as I thought? Or coincidently they both lost the same amount of time...

In my experience with the Mach I, it does gain about a minute every four or five days, depending on how much I wear it, but that has been my experience with many autos unless you have them regulated like someone else has mentioned. I generally don't expect my autos to be super accurate (except for my Stowa, which is pretty accurate), so I reset them when I notice they have gained some time.

I'm surprised the Quartz gained that much over 24 hours. I think I mentioned above that my SA Alliance gains maybe four or five seconds a MONTH.

I do like the look of the GMT though. I agree with your decision to put it on a leather strap. Looks nice, clean.
