Happy to see a MIP display coming to our beloved square shape. Will be interesting to see more details as far as the case construction, because it's quite a bit different than the current GMW-B5000s. Is it still a true full metal, or a G-Steel sorta thing? Will the bracelet be any better, or have better articulation? Will the current GMW-B5000 resin strap fit these new ones?

The black with gold accents is pretty hot IMO.

I saw these on Gee's IG post. I love them. BUT... no silver with positive display or black with positive display is a miss. I'm not opposed to gold, I actually quite like it. Also, I have not owned an MIP model, so I'm trying to keep an open mind that a negative MIP isn't actually a bad thing.

Or....... it is possible with MIP to have it switchable between positive and negative.

As far as the construction goes, I would actually love to see a carbon case with metal bezel like some of the G-Steels. The bi-color and bi-material construction shaves some weight and makes them appear and look slimmer. Or if these are all metal, maybe the MIP module will allow a little slimmer case. I love my GMW-B5000s, but they are heavy and kind of thick.

This site (https://www.notebookcheck.net/Brand...io-G-Shock-GMW-BZ5000-leak-reveals-case-redesign-and-MiP-display.1024736.0.html) is saying they are all stainless steel: "Each one of the above keeps the familiar stainless steel construction but features a redesigned case with side modules that appear removable or at least newly constructed." Unless they have an inside line that G-Central doesn't have, it's probably too soon to say definitively.

I've not owned a MIP, but I have seen them in person, and the negative is easily just as readable as the positive, it's really totally different than the regular LCD's the squares have always had. And I believe some Garmins with MIP displays do allow you to switch between positive and negative, but not all.

Don't worry about the color choices, we know G-Shock, more will come!

Found a Russian site that has a graphic saying it's all steel.

The headline in English is: "Casio will release a single-metal watch G-SHOCK GMW-BZ5000 with modular housing".

@Mothdust changed his negative MIP to positive the old fashioned way by fooling with the polarizer.

Honestly I'm too lazy for that, but want a positive MIP enough that I will take the gold. The negative MIPs are certainly readable, way (way) moreso than a negative LCD, but not the end game of readability some people say they are. The positives may be.

Negative mip displays are the only ones I can tolerate long term. I have changed all others I have to positive.
The downside is that so far casio mip displays are slow. Not sure why Casio does this, Garmin is a lot faster with its mip displays. So far in all mip watches I have there is a noticeable delay after you push a button and the response of the watch. Regular lcds are instant. I am curious to see if this is the same with this new watch.

IMHO....dw-h5600 is not the MIP square the masses wanted....it was a poor, lazy, sloppy execution from Casio....pure and simple.....all we want is a solar or battery operated MIP square....doesn't even have to contain Multiband 6 or BT capability......now let's get this puppy to the finish line..... (y)

"poor, lazy, sloppy" youre stopping there? surely you could come up with some more irrelevant hyperbole than that 😂
they made a whole new model essentially cramming a gbdh2 complete with hrm into a smaller square body, in what world would that be poor, lazy or sloppy? it covers your wants listed here and goes way beyond it at a far less cost.

theres also no "all we want", all -you- want maybe. when the smaller mip models came out (several which tick all your boxes) , some wanted the mips in a traditional case and bezels (some were even saying up till this year that casio werent going to put mips in anything other than "sport" models) but alot of purists who thought the 500D was the be all/end all thought it was sacrilege to swap out the lcd module. further to that, those same ppl would sooner die than have bt or no mb6/solar.
