A friend asked me what it is and I told him a rubber-like material(yeah, not real scientific) I told him I'll find out from the experts in the forum. Whatever it is, it must be good or Casio would'nt use it on the Gs!

Maybe I'll just tell him its another word for flubber!;-)

Does this mean no matter what resin will still break down overtime?

"A polyurethane, commonly abbreviated PU, is any polymer consisting of a chain of organic units joined by urethane links.

Re: The Scientific Answer

316L,

As a self-proclaimed expert and scientist, I am here to inform you unequivocally that "resin" is the strange black substance from another world that crashes to Earth in Spider-Man 3.

This scientific explanation is the key that finally unlocks the mystery to our G-Shock obsession.

How long does it take for resin to rot?

My favorite is the frogman band, which feels much stiffer and has a deeper texture than others. The giez does feel more soft and rubber-like. So many G-Shock bands are kind of shiny and plasticky, the thin ones like that feel cheap to me (like alot of models in wal mart). THere are thicker and stiffer versions of the plasticky kind though which I like. The worst are the thinnest plastic bands with a plastic buckle (hardly a step up from the $15 casio non G's).
