Hello,
I know the 9f Diver and the SD Diver have screw down crowns, but what other models do? I would never pay that kind of money for a Watch that did not have a screw down crown. That is why I have never bought an Omega speedy, even though I like them. Vance.

I believe all of the ones that have 100M water resistance have screw-down crowns, which is most (or all) of the Heritage line. My Snowflake (SBGA211) has a screw down crown.

I disagree that it's a must at the price point, since there are plenty of much more expensive dress watches that don't have screw down crowns (and aren't likely to need them), but it does give me a sense of security to know that my most expensive watch won't be damaged by routine contact with water.

My Sbgv 223, 225, and 205 do not even though they are 10bar. My sbgt241 does for some reason and it is the worst screw down crown I have ever experienced. It is very difficult to adjust it to the date or day settings, and does not screw down well without almost feeling as if you are cross threading it. I love the watch, but I could do without that horrible screw down crown. I dread adjusting the date and I am positive there will be a servicing fee in my future for that awful thing.

I am around water all the time. A lot of my outdoor interests are around water. That is why for my Watches, I want a screw down crown. I also tend to wear my Watches one at a time 24/7 for months at a time. I do not want to have to change my Watch because of what I might do around the water that day. You may not agree with me, but that is my preference. Vance.

Tell that to Omega when it does leak and try to get out of paying the fee to have your Speedy rebuilt. There is a reason most Rolex and many Omega Watches have screw down crowns! Have you ever worked and been on a commercial fishing boat, out fishing in all kinds of weather? I have, and wore my Rolex Submariner, without any problems. People that work and live around the water will know. Again, my preference. Vance.

The last 2 replies were to some questions why I need a screw down crown! Thank you, to those that gave me the information on what GS Watches have screw down crowns! Vance.

I have been a WIS, for about 45 years. After High Graduation, I took my Grad money and bought a Rolex Submariner! 1978’ I have had many nice Watches in my lifetime. Not born with a “golden spoon” in my mouth but worked hard for my Watches, because that was important to me. What Watch a person wears says a lot to me about that person. Watches, 4x4 vehicles, and fishing poles, and yes, fly fishing, boats, scuba diving, surfing and more have been my “thing”. That is just me. It takes only once to wreck an expensive Watch due to water or moisture intrusion, even though the Watch was rated to 10 bar. To change that, I took steps to keep that from happening again! Vance.

The screw down crown is a must for me and not just for water intrusion. I have two watches that don't have a screw down crown. There have been countless times where the crown has goteen caught on clothing (such as pulling my hand out of my pocket or drying my hnads on a towel) and the watch has stopped since it pulled the crown out to the hacking position. It's usually 15 or more minutes later when I discover that the watch has stopped and the time is off.

This, of course, never happens with a screw down crown.
