So i Bought a beautiful brown dial Old Seiko 5 for £10 on ebay and the seller offered to throw in this 1950's (judging by the limited Google-Fu) "Allenby by Helsa" in if I paid for the shipping as he was just getting rid of his collection.
The Seiko turned out to be fake, with a Slava 2427 Dial. The old guy feels awful but it oh well was a £10 (plus shipping).
its 36 mm, it's a close to perfect canvas dial apart from the mark where I guess the radium dials were stuck for the past 20 years, and all the movement says is: "Swiss made" "15 fifteen jewels" and "Unadjusted" nothing else.
Now I know this is probably not worth much, but it sure is beautiful, it seems pretty legit and it works! I would just love to know more about this watch if possible.
(I'm going to take that Feiko apart tonight and franken the franken, just to see how it works. but damn I love that brown dial)
Thanks guys, I really did search the forums for this but couldn't find anything!
This is the Feiko for anyone interested.
