Why is it so hard to find a NON-micro brand, 36mm watch with screw down crown on bracelet?
Why the big brands ignore this formula?

Hot take: This is also why the Explorer is so popular and Rolex was smart enough to see their mistake and bring back the 36mm a couple years back.

Rolex OP and Datejust don't count?

^^^This

The average watch buyer doesn't care about the actual diameter measurement of their watch - they go off of what looks good to their eye and feels comfortable on their wrist.

As to the screw-down crown - that has even LESS bearing on the average watch-buyers list of have/have-nots than it does for hobbyists.

TANDORIO. it might be a micro though. Go on Ali Express and search Tandorio watch I have two, both use a Seiko NH 35A movement. One is 36 mm the other maybe 37 or 38. Also check
Ck invicta pro diver 36 mm. They have 36 mm subs from 70 to 130 usd with ss bracelets. Wr 200 meters which probably use NH 35A movements from Seiko.

This Perry Ellis has a screw down crown but I've had it several years.

Obviously they all have black and other colors considered for men.

not exactly 36.... but Certina just issued a few 40mm quartz divers, they also have 38mm automatic divers, 34mm divers, and the big 43mm and 45mm chrono divers.

Why is it so hard to find 36mm major brand watches with screwdown crown? Because most people don't need them.

It's a cute marketing gimmick, but as long as a watch has 30-50m WR, there's just no need. I have a Glycine Combat 6 36mm with a pull/push crown - love it, no worries about crossthreading, and with 50m WR, does everything I need it to do in daily life.

OTOH, I have a BB36 with threaded crown and any number of mod-builds using AliX/eBay cases with threaded crowns.

If threaded crown, 36mm is important to you, probably you should include microbrands...

Ill answer the question a little differently.

There are certainly a few mainstream brands with screwdown crowns, which others have already shared and I don't intend on repeating. The problem with screwdown crowns is one additional part that can fail or worn out and require service, so if it's there just to add a feature, it adds cost but not necessarily value for the consumer.

The big brands also frequently "ignore" things like toolless micro-adjust clasps in favor of far more simple (read: cheaper) foldovers. Threaded crowns are an added cost. You as a major brand have a lot of overhead that the microbrands don't have. If you want to price compete with them, something has to get cut. That's one of the things that gets cut.

That being said, before Omega's sports watches all went on a binge eating spree, they had several of them.
