@botto I see in the size description that W800 is 37.5 mm diameter or width & 13 mm thickness and AE1200 is 39.5 mm & 12.5 mm thickness world timer is bigger and slimmer not sure how the inside modules will play out i would recommend you reach out to the guy who machines the metal cases that you are probably referring to that might give a right answer and avoid the guess work as the metal cases are not cheap.

The W800H module is 29.1mm high, 28.2mm wide, and 8.4mm thick.
The AE1200 module is 29.8mm high, 30.8mm wide, and 7.0mm thick.

If I remove the AE1200 faceplate, I can physically close the case with the W800H module inside. The springy metal bits on the back prevent the module from rattling around in the AE1200 case.
The AE1200 pushers don't make contact with the W800H module though. Even if I press all 4 at the same time, the module doesn't do anything.

If you 3D-print a frame or spacer, you should be able to get a good fit and may even be able to get the pushers to work. But without that kind of modding it is rather pointless to do this swap.

EDIT : oh, and seeing as you mention a metal case for the AE1200 :
The pushers of both models are different too. I tried swapping pushers about a year ago. One of the models had a longer axle and a shorter top section. I don't recall which way was most problematic, but neither swap direction really worked as it should. If you buy the Kranio case, you'll need the AE1200 pushers.
Also, the Kranio crystal is 2mm higher than the original one (39mm wide and 39mm high versus the original 39mm wide and 37mm high). You'll see even more of the module if you were to put it in that case.

If you have your heart set on a watch like the W800H in a stainless case, you'll have to upgrade to the AE1200. If you do that, I'd recommend getting the Kranio case with the AE1200 module already inside it. I bought just the empty case and did the swap myself, and those C-clips still give me nightmares.

If you really want to use a W800H module but want a better case for that ... I guess you're out of luck. The best you can do with a W800H in terms of bolt-on mods is to get the JaysAndKays adapters for the AE1200 (those fit the W800H just fine) and a 22mm NATO strap.
Oh, and you can get a case from one of the other W800H variants, of course. I cracked the crystal on mine, so I plan to transplant my module into the more monochrome case of the W800H-1BV.

Those c-clips gave me a nightmare also! About as bad as prying lithium batteries out of iPhones 😂
