Hey gang, I did a search on the forums and couldn't find this exact fix so I thought I'd post it for others having the same issue. I have a Seiko SRPC23J (profile pic) with a *super* tight bezel - so bad that sometimes I can barely turn it 1-2 clicks without friction. It's gotten to the point that I don't wear the watch as much because it's so frustrating to need to time something and struggle with the bezel.

After trying a few things (dental floss, CLP, etc) to no avail, this did the trick: warm soapy water, let the watch soak for a minute or two, then take it out, turn the bezel repeatedly. Let soak again, this time turn the bezel while watch is under water. Take out, dry off and turn bezel repeatedly. Did this 3 times and voila! The bezel is buttery smooth and feels fantastic. It's like a new watch. Hope this helps someone else out there with the same problem!

A good tip! I had a similar problem with a completely seized rotating (but non-click) bezel on a Landmaster. The Seiko service agent applied a little petrol to the underside of the bezel. Sounds a little dubious, but it worked a treat.

Petrol? I'd be worried about the rubber gaskets - petrol is a pretty good solvent and can degrade these which means a possible leak.

Might be worthwhile getting a pressure test just to be sure.

It did work for me on my 5KX! This bezel was a real pain to turn and now is responding as it should. No soaking, just under hot tap water for 15 seconds, rotate, another 15 seconds under water, rotate and done. I am really surprised this simple trick worked so well, acutally I initially though I was wasting my time.

Thanks to the OP for sharing!!
