Great pictures, thanks for posting.

It's amazing to think that, even today, a spring driven, manually wound, mechanical wrist-watch based on 1950s technology (or earlier) is being used for 21st century space walks and that it hasn't been replaced by some up to date, high tech device.

I'm not sure whether this is a testament to the ruggedness and reliablity of the Speedie Pro, or lack of funding for the space program... Or just a historical oddity.

In any case, thanks once again for taking the time to put this together.

This is such a cool thread, it gives me a little chill looking at those pictures. My Speedy was a grail for me that dated back to when I was an 11 year old camper at US Space Camp (I'm 25 now). Thanks so much for sharing them!
