I figure since there is an Expedition Appreciation thread that there should also be an Ironman thread too. I picked this one up the other day on a whim, it is a Timex Ironman T5K198.

I know its an old post, but it looks greatThe strap finally gave up on my faithful running watch that has been with me for 4 to 6 runs each week for maybe 10 years - not sure but it must be thereabouts. But a beat up NATO could do the trick or what do you think ?

Looks like the one I had back in the day. Is it vintage, or can you buy that one new? TIA.

i must say the t200 is my favourite out of the 3 ironman ive got. This summer is all digital watches. And the Ironman has never let me down.
The t200 is the confusion piece, as the silicone throws me.
Yeah, I think it is amazing. Maybe it is just me. But, the silicone sort of feels off somehow. I am sure it is just me.i must say the t200 is my favourite out of the 3 ironman ive got.

I have one on that bracelet you can have if that one gets damaged. I do not wear it, would like it to have a good home. This is my dad's old watch. Got this NOS band to replace the original resin strap that had split at one of the eyeholes. I assume that some are familiar with this band. I've seen it on other models of this watch that are inverted to this model (grey body, black bezel) but I still think it looks sharp here. Really like this band and the mix of metal/synthetic.
I have one sticking point. Clasp is on it's shortest setting and the opposite end of the part of the clasp that engages has a tendency to catch on stuff, lift and cause the clasp to disengage (see markup on last image). Any suggestions? Can I shorten this strap with conventional tools by removing the intermittent pins, similar to other typical link bands? I don't want to give it a shot and permanently ruin the band. Thanks in advance.
